Back Finding Calm

You can pledge any amount you like, or, you can opt to pledge one of our set amounts in return for a corresponding reward.

These amounts begin at £10, for which we will send you a Hi-Res PDF of the 'CALM' poster. At the other end of the scale, you could pledge £2,500 and as a reward, you’ll be able to come down to our set and “Call Action!”

Producing 'calm' will be an ambitious undertaking, shot over several locations and at specific times of day that are aesthetically / narratively important to the story. Making the logistics work will require smart planning and scheduling; for example, we will look for locations that are in close proximity to each other, such as Sam’s house and the community hall, allowing us to move quickly between them and losing minimal time between setups.

Director Chris Brake is an experienced storyboarder, having done so extensively by necessity when planning shots for the complex puppet films he has made. Brake will also be taking the same approach on Calm, to ensure that time on-set is spent efficiently and allowing for the maximum time possible to work with the actors and draw out challenging performances that do justice to the sober material presented in the script.

Regarding crew, Brake intends upon continuing to work with several of his regular collaborators, including the Berlinale Teddy Award winning cinematographer and production designer, Piero Cioffi and Lara Zeidan respectively, both of whom are familiar and experienced with his working methods and capable of delivering the film within our intended timescales.
